Biography

Rachel Boyoung Kim is a duPont-Columbia Award, Murrow, and multiple-Emmy Award-winning director, producer, writer, cinematographer, and editor with extensive experience in scripted and unscripted development, production oversight, and multi-platform storytelling. She has led creative campaigns and long-form projects for NBC, ABC, PBS, and cultural institutions, combining hands-on production expertise with high-level creative direction.

Her work spans live-action, documentary, and CG-integrated content, with a strong foundation in writing and editorial storytelling. She blends narrative craft with social media strategy and data-driven audience engagement, leveraging analytics, retention metrics, and A/B testing to shape creative for broadcast, digital, OTT, and social platforms. Proficient with AI-driven production tools, she integrates automation into workflows to streamline post-production, motion graphics, and infographic creation.

Known for mentoring creative teams and managing complex post and VFX workflows, Rachel partners with cross-functional groups to deliver content that informs, inspires, and achieves measurable impact. 

 

She brings hands-on expertise in writing, directing, cinematography, and editing, delivering high-quality creative under tight deadlines. Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite and AI-powered design tools, and bilingual in English and Korean, Rachel has a strong record of crafting culturally resonant, data-informed stories.
